KATRINA
The
resilience of Bourbon Street became famous after Hurricane Katrina. For
example, one enterprising businessman—that is short for a bar owner—kept his
bar open with candle light, during the long nights when all the local
electricity was out.
A
reporter, quite impressed, said to the owner, “ I understand the improvised
light, but you had no running water either. How did you stay open??
“Sir”,
said the bar owner,” folks don’t come to New Orleans to drink water”!
